The Coordinating Seven - Ready Aug 23!

Pete and repeat were in a boat...O.k., seriously, I'm having a hard time getting these little ones straight because they are SO similar! In the last picture post welcoming these little ones I purposefully left out Merlot because he is a true runt and I wanted to make sure he was not weak. Well, he's not weak, quite the contrary. He holds his own and throws his weight around quite well, so here he is!

Cute Puppy Video

New litter just born! Ready August 23

This new litter surprised us while we were on vacation! I waited and waited for her to give birth the week before, but she held out on us. Thankfully I have a wonderful neighbor, my puppy mentor, who came and helped her deliver and took wonderful care of them.

Introducing Lilac and her first litter of puppies!

Born late last night, Lilac had five absolutley gorgeous little ones. Lilac surprised us, being a blue herself, with two solid chocolates(reds, 1m & 1f), one solid cream(m), one parti-cream(m), and a chocolate/white bicolor(m).

These little ones will be raised using the Puppy Culture method and ready for forever homes on August 14th.

Pardon the poor picture, but Lilac was very tired, freshly cleaned up, pampered and the red of the heatlamp distorts coloring. In a couple days, new pictures will be posted.

Thoughts on Children and Puppies

First off, let me begin by saying we love children, after all, we have 9 of them. We have been asked several times for our position on children and dogs as some of our customers have been turned away from other breeders for the simple fact....they have children.

We consider this close-minded to lump all children into the catagory of Puppy Abusers. This is just not true. All children whose families aquire a puppy must be taught before the puppy comes in to the home, to first, be caaaaalm with the puppy. Always talk softly and act softly. Puppies feed off energy and get riled up quite easily...this isn't a good thing with children. Puppies will get accidentally stepped on, dropped, or sat upon causing serious injury or death. Not to mention the emotional trauma to the child.

Your young children must be properly supervised at all times and all children trained how to handle a puppy correctly. If you DON'T want a puppy that bites, snaps, is hard to potty train or an I-gotta-lock-him-in-the-bathroom-he's-driving-me-crazy type of puppy...then train your children to love on the puppy with gentle, soft words and actions. Crate train to give quiet time. Set the example for the children to imitate. Children learn best by observing and imitating, not lectures or a quick spoken list of rules. Be patient.

We give our puppies the best possible start, a better start than most breeders can offer, in the fact that our puppies are socialized with children who love a good playtime and never allow biting(but we do allow kisses!) or rough play. What you expect from your children will make, or break, a great family dog. Puppies are very impressionable and resilient, just have fun with them and your children in a controlled environment.
