Blossom and Sassy’s puppies

Blossoms puppies were born on June 18, they are 4 weeks old in this picture(taken 7/17). They will be ready for homes Aug 13th.

Then we have Sassy’s litter! Born July 4th! They will be ready on August 29th . These little ones are 1 1/2 weeks old in this picture(taken 7/17). The two little girls are on the left and the three little boys are on the right. The girls have curly coats whereas the little black boy has a very straight coat, thus far.

Two have open eyes! They are very, very wiggly.

Thoughts on Children and Puppies

First off, let me begin by saying we love children, after all, we have 9 of them. We have been asked several times for our position on children and dogs as some of our customers have been turned away from other breeders for the simple fact....they have children.

We consider this close-minded to lump all children into the catagory of Puppy Abusers. This is just not true. All children whose families aquire a puppy must be taught before the puppy comes in to the home, to first, be caaaaalm with the puppy. Always talk softly and act softly. Puppies feed off energy and get riled up quite easily...this isn't a good thing with children. Puppies will get accidentally stepped on, dropped, or sat upon causing serious injury or death. Not to mention the emotional trauma to the child.

Your young children must be properly supervised at all times and all children trained how to handle a puppy correctly. If you DON'T want a puppy that bites, snaps, is hard to potty train or an I-gotta-lock-him-in-the-bathroom-he's-driving-me-crazy type of puppy...then train your children to love on the puppy with gentle, soft words and actions. Crate train to give quiet time. Set the example for the children to imitate. Children learn best by observing and imitating, not lectures or a quick spoken list of rules. Be patient.

We give our puppies the best possible start, a better start than most breeders can offer, in the fact that our puppies are socialized with children who love a good playtime and never allow biting(but we do allow kisses!) or rough play. What you expect from your children will make, or break, a great family dog. Puppies are very impressionable and resilient, just have fun with them and your children in a controlled environment.

•Mamma and Papa are owned and kept here with us! With notice, you are welcome to meet both.
